WHAT IS MYSTERY OF CHRISTMAS?

WHAT IS MYSTERY OF CHRISTMAS?

(Rom 16:25 NKJ)

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began

1.the word “mystery” is the greek word. Musterion. Derived from the greek verb mueo “ to initiate “ it is also related to muo meaning “to shut the eyes or the mouth.“ consequently. It stands for rites and truhs which must be closely guarded by those who possess them.

2.the meaning of this word in classical greek was “anything hidden or secret. “in plural ta musteria. The sacred rites,”it denoted secrets which were kept

from the uniniated

3.in the new testament, it is the unrevealed that is mysterious. Many now see “through a glass, darkly”

(1Co 13:12 NKJ)

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

And only ” know in part”

(1Co 13:9 NKJ)

For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

When we see Jesus Christ, we shall know in full,  even as we are known

(1Co 13:12 NKJ)

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

1 John 3:2 NKJ)

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

4.the revelation of the coming of jesus Christ in to the world is not only an historical fact to be learned, but a spiritual truth that only god through the holyspirit can reveal to our hearts

2.2. Christmas presents two great mysteries.

  1. the first is the fact of the incarnation of word, logos, or intelligence”

(Joh 1:1 NKJ)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

(Joh 1:14 NKJ)

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

This mystery is incomprehensible to our human minds. Now can the infinite,

(Phi 2:6 NKJ)

who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,

(Phi 2:8 NKJ)

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Jesus Christ partially revealed this mystery is to some in his day and continues to do so in ours

(Eph 3:4 NKJ)

by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),

(Eph 3:5 NKJ)

which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

(Eph 3:2 NKJ)

if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,

(Eph 6:19 NKJ)

and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

(Col 4:3 NKJ)

meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,

those who understand the mystery of Christ’s birth are the initates who now have access to further secrets of the kingdom of god

(Mat 13:11 NKJ)

He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given

(Mar 4:11 NKJ)

And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables,

(Luk 8:10 NKJ)

And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that`Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand

These believers try to pass on the mystery of Christ and his kingdom

(1Co 2:7 NKJ)

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,

(Eph 6:19 NKJ)

And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

(Col 2:2 NKJ)

that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and1 of Christ,

but to those unenlightened by god himself it is foolishness

(1Co 2:7 NKJ)

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,

  1. after “the word was made flesh, “dwelt among us”

 Joh 1:14 NKJ)

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

What is translated as “among is the greek preposition en which can mean “among” but primarily means “in” nideed, the second Christmas miracle is even greater god not only came “ among us” but he actually dwells “in” us when he does, we effect become members of his body, the church. And are initated into all of the privileges there of.

3.3.what does Christmas mean to us

  1. first, we must accept it as a mystery
  2. (Rom 16:25 NKJ)
  3. Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began

Otherwise we will underestimate its value. The more mysterious god is, the more glorious he is in our eyes

(Pro 25:2 NKJ)

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

(1Co 2:7 NKJ)

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,

It is a humbling experience when we must confess that neither know nor understand something, and that no matter how hard we try, we cannot change this.

  1. Jesus Christ is also able to “establish” us

(Rom 16:25 NKJ)

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began

(1Th 3:13 NKJ)

The word for establish is to make steadfast. To cause us to stand and to keep us from evil so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

(2Th 2:17-1 NKJ)

comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

(1Pe 5:10 NKJ)

But may1 the God of all grace, who called us2 to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you
